Another Way to Jazz Up My Invites!

Now that I've sent out the first batch of Save the Dates, I'm ready to start on the invitations. Well, I've technically started over a year ago, but I do have a new development! The envelope wrap! Here's a fab design I found over at The Fussy Designer!

Unfortunately, the second picture doesn't show much, but that's where you'd put the return address.

There are a plethora of colors available, including this fabulous orange one, but sadly there were no pink ones! So, what's a pink-lover to do? Make her own, of course (or at least recolor one of them)! After a bit of time in Paint and Microsoft Publisher, I was able to make the pink one!

Now to decide whether to hand-write or type the addresses on them. I know hand-writing them makes them seem more thoughtful, but I'm not sure anyone really even cares about how their name was written on the envelope. I mean, would you feel snubbed if your name wasn't hand-written? Decisions, decisions...

Ciao,

I am planning on printing my labels. It would not matter to me either way, but handwritten seems like a waste knowing that the post office is going to stamp their stuff all over it an ruin it anyway. I like these labels BTW kudos for customizing yours in pink!

Hm. I like handwritten, but only because I know that's what I'm "supposed" to do. When I get one that's printed, I think, "oh, they didn't hand write it" and that's the end of my thinking about it. ;) So even this former etiquette-head doesn't really care anymore.

Ooh those are really cute! I have never really paid much attention to the envelope before I started all my wedding research and learned that it is "bad etiquette" not to hand-write the addresses. I'm not sure if I am going to have mine printed yet either. To me, it is what's in the inside that counts. The envelope usually gets tossed anyhow.

If you really want to give your envelopes that handwritten look, but you aren't too crazy about your handwriting, you can also use a pretty font and print your addresses on very lightly. And then take a calligraphy pen and trace over it. People will think you hired a professional calligrapher! hehe.
